加to
英文中的“be of + 名詞”句型用來描述主語所具有的特徵或性質，包括等級、大小、類型、質量、年齡、重要性等。
與 be of 搭配的常見名詞有 use， help， importance， value， interest， benefit， age 等， 這些搭配很多已形成習慣用語。名詞前還常常有 no， any， great， best， same， high， low， much， little 等表示程序和量的修飾語， 如 be of great quality (高質量），be of little value (幾乎沒價值）
1、 表示有用或有幫助的名詞：
be of use/no use 有用（沒用）
~ help/no help 有幫助 (沒有幫助）
Please let me know whether I can be of help. 請讓我知道我是否能幫上點忙。
It is of no use. 這個沒用。
2、 表示價值和重要性的名詞：
be of value 有價值
~ importance 重要
~ benefit 有益處
~ no harm無害
~ significance 有意義
What they have done is of no harm to us. 他們所做的對我們沒有任何害處。
Jack's discovery is of great importance to our country in the future. 傑克的發現對我們國家未來非常重要。
3、 表示質量、等級、標準的名詞：
be of high/low/good/bad quality 高/低/好/差質量

The products of our factory are of best quality. 我們工廠的產品質量最好。
4、 表示尺寸、長度、形狀 (size， length， height， shape) 的名詞
He can wear my clothes because we are of the same size. 他可以穿我的衣服，因為我們尺寸一樣。
5、 其他常用的還有 age， interest， color 等，如：
The story is of no interest to the kids. 孩子們對這個故事不感興趣。
He is of your age. 他和你同齡。
They are of the same age. 他們一樣大。
The walls of those buildings are of light grey color. 那些建築的牆壁是淺灰色的。
像這種包含介詞of的動詞短語有很多： be composed of 由…組成， be accused of 被指控犯有…罪行， be deprived of 被剝奪…權利/職位等， be informed of 被告知…， 等等。 若問為什麼，很抱歉，回答只有：沒有為什麼！理由很簡單，沒有人能講出來為什麼要用of而不用to或for或with等等。
對這類動詞詞組（短語）只能是碰見一個記憶一個，鞏固的方法也只能是在閲讀或語法練習中多加分辨。 值得注意的是，這類短語有時會在所用過去分詞與of之間加入狀語成分而增加辨認難度。例如： He was accused by the Bush administration of misleading the media.(他被布什當局指控為誤導媒體) The general manager was deprived by the board of the post.(總經理被董事會罷免了職位)
